Amateur DanceSport Instructor Examination Training
The Candidate must be taught by a qualified professional at the level of Championship Adjudicator.
The Amateur Instructor Examination must be passed within the required time frame.
The applicant must demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the Examiner, an overall knowledge of the figures listed, before being approved.
SYLLABUS:
Standard: Student Teacher Step List – ISTD Technique Book.
Plus Viennese Waltz – Natural & Reverse Turns, Fwd Change Steps.
Latin-American: Student Teacher Step List – ISTD Technique Books.
FUNDAMENTALS:
A general practical understanding of Technique, Music, Posture and Balance.
DEMONSTRATION REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate should be able to perform each of the test dances to music with a partner. However, demonstration to music of the alternative gender is not required.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A general knowledge of the Technique, Action, Rhythm and Timing of each of the test dances is required. The candidate should be able to accurately demonstrate each of the syllabus figures, as Man and Lady, with the appropriate technique, action and timing. However, the exact foot positions, Alignment and footwork on each step of the test figures are not required.
